Coming Rain

Hosea 6:3
Let us know,
Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD.
His going forth is established as the morning;
He will come to us like the rain,
Like the latter and former rain to the earth.
NKJV

Sweet Jesus, the knowledge of Him is the catalyst for rain—rain poured out on our hearts and souls—satiation of thirst, relief of drought. Seek Him out. Run to Him. Chase after Him. Persist. Pursue. For He said, “you will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.” He is not some nefarious wisp, a nebulous concept that defies logic, but He is as established as the morning. As certain as the sun rises, He is there waiting and calling to us. When we accept Him and surrender to His will, the dryness in our soul and spirit will be no more. His love pours through us like a fountain of water. It brings life, breaks the chains of bondage, and lifts us up to a true fulfillment of our potential: freedom to be true to our destiny, freedom to be what He created us to be.

Come, every one who is thirsty in spirit;
Come, every one who is weary and sad.
Come to the fountain; there’s fullness in Jesus
All that you’re longing for; Come and be glad.

Thank you for the reminder to 'search...with all [my] heart.'

I needed that today.

I too long for that gentle cleansing rain. I must admit that lately I have been weary and sad.
