Righteous Rain

Ps 11:6-7
Upon the wicked He will rain coals;
Fire and brimstone and a burning wind
Shall be the portion of their cup.
For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness;
His countenance beholds the upright.
NKJV

No true justice would exist if only mercy were extended. There must also be punishment for evil. God is truly a God of justice. On one side He rewards and blesses the righteous. He extends love and forgiveness to any who reach out in faith to Him. On the other He punishes wickedness, avenges the oppressed, and measures out judgment against those who rebel.

God deals with us in the direction we are going. To those who reject and turn from Him, He says, “'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.” To the hungry, He says. "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me . . . . streams of living water will flow from within him."

In Your presence, that’s where I am strong.
In Your presence, O Lord, my God.
In Your presence, that’s where I belong
Seeking Your face, touching Your grace
In the cleft of the rock,
In Your presence, O God
I want to go where the rivers cannot overflow me,
Where my feet are on the rock.
I want to hide where the blazing fire cannot burn me,
In Your presence, O God.
